April 2016 VE Testing Session

Mike Conte W4NYY has announced the date and location for the April 2016 VE Testing session. The information follows below:

Our April 2016 VE Sessions will be held on Saturday April 16th at the Workforce Development Center of Thomas Nelson Community College, 4135 Ironbound Road in Williamsburg starting at 8:30 am. Registration will begin at 8am.
The Workforce Development Center is located across the street from Panera Bread on Monticello Avenue in Newtown.  It’s behind the Courthouse but the entrance is on Ironbound Road. The tests will be given on the 2nd floor with the room TBD.   I will place signs at the entrance and if possible have some VE’s standing by to provide directions to the to the room.  Any available VE’s that can make it will be greatly appreciated.  I sent the ARRL a request for materials and the session should be on the ARRL site withing 5 to 7 days.
Those of you who wish to either upgrade their current license or anyone wishing to take the exam the first time the cost is still $15.  The amount can be paid by check (made out to the ARRL VEC) and of course cash is always taken.  Candidates who already posses a license please bring: a photo ID, your current original license or CSCE and a copy, and either of your social security # or your FRN registration #.  Those who do not posses a license please bring a photo ID and either your social security # or FRN registration #.  The SS # or FRN # must be provided on Form 605 and provided to the ARRL.  (A copy of your SS card is not needed)  Calculators are allowed and we will provide scrap paper if needed.  Cell phones are not allowed to be used as a calculator.  Candidates can take 1 or more of the elements and the cost is same, $15.  However, if a candidate fails an element and wishes to retake it the cost will be an additional $15.
