The National Parks on the Air is an on-the-air operating event sponsored by the ARRL in honor of the National Park Service’s 100th Anniversary. Throughout 2016 hams will be operating from national parks across the country to commemorate this centennial celebration.
WAARC has plans to operate from a few of the national parks that are located in the Williamsburg area, some of them in conjunction with our annual Special Event Stations. These operations will be listed below, and the page will be updated when others are scheduled.
All of our logs will be uploaded to LoTW with the National Park designator for each activation. This will allow those chasing the national parks to get credit for working us.
April 23, Colonial National Historic Park (HP09)
May 14, Jamestown National Historic Site (AA14), in conjunction with the annual Jamestown Special Event
June 11, Colonial National Historic Park (HP09)
July 2, Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail (TR23), in conjunction with the annual Colonial Williamsburg Special Event
October 14, Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail (TR23), in conjunction with the annual Yorktown Special Event
Others will be added as the group schedules other activations.
