General License class September 11, 2023 – CANCELLED

The Williamsburg Area Amateur Radio Club will be offering a class for an Amateur Radio license upgrade to a General license beginning September 11, 2023.

Unfortunately, there was insufficient enrollment to offer this class and it has been cancelled. Watch for future class offers.

The General upgrade classes will be Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 12:30pm September 11 – October 26 (also Friday Oct 6, Tue Oct 17, and Tue Oct 24, with no class Oct 9-13). All classes will be held at the James City-Bruton Fire Station (multipurpose room): 3135 Forge Rd, Toano, VA. 23168.

A license exam session (open to all candidates) will be held Friday, October 27 at the same location starting at 9:00am.

The class is free, however, there is an administrative fee of $15.00 for the license examination. After the exam the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) charges $35.00 to process a new license.  This fee must be sent by you to the FCC. It will not be collected by WAARC on exam day.

If you or someone you know is interested in a class send an email to HamRadioClass@yahoo.com indicating your name, email address, phone number, call sign and that you are interested in the General class and if you want to purchase a manual through the club (see details below).
