Ham Radio on Display in Yorktown

This Saturday, July 18, a few WAARC members are working to put amateur radio on display at the Watermen’s Museum during the Yorktown Seafood Festival. The museum is really eager to have ham radio a part of their museum, and they helped us when we needed a venue for the VE Session we held on June 20. They allowed a small group to set up a station for Field Day, and are excited to have a station set up during the festival.

For anyone wishing to go down to Yorktown, the festival will take place between 11am-5pm. There will be several food trucks, a local brewery serving up their latest brews, as well as live music and displays at the museum. There is plenty of free parking around the Yorktown area, and the Yorktown Trolley will be running to shuttle folks from the various parking areas.

If you would like to listen for the station operating from the museum, they will be using the call sign WA3RWP. The plan is to primarily operate on 40M, at or around 7.265 MHz. They may also get on 20M, at or around 14.265 MHz. Give them a call if you hear them on.
