Randy’s Antenna party

From Randy KM4YSN:

I want express my thanks to all those who came over to my house to help with the “antenna rais’n.”  When all is said and done, the antenna is working as designed!  I have made several contacts already on 20 and 80 meters.  I don’t want to miss anyone so I will not mention specific names but everyone eagerly jumped in to lend their knowledge and experience to the task at hand.  The End-Fed Half-Wave dipole was raised at the center of the stainless-steel insulated wire to approximately 50 feet into an oak tree utilizing a spud-launcher, rope, pass through insulator for the wire and steady hands.  The 139-foot antenna was tied down at the other side of the yard and the transformer end was bolted to the back side of the house.  I am not sure if the antenna is an inverted-V or a lazy-L?  An antenna analyzer was applied with good results on all rated bands.  The first tests were no good until the lightening arrestor was removed.  A replacement will be put on order.  A special thanks to those who supplied the spud-launcher, antenna analyzer, rope, and your time.  The day turned out to be a very good one, but cold!  (See pictures below)
