Technician License Class in Hampton

For those who know someone who may be interested, a Technician Class is being held in Hampton.  Im forwarding the information on

The next Amateur Radio class will run Saturdays, September 20, 27, Oct 4, 11, & 18 from 0900 – 1300 with a test session set for Oct 25.

Classes will be held at the Hampton Roads Chapter of the American Red Cross, 1323 W. Pembroke Ave in Hampton. Enter the door near the generators on the west side of the building.

You do not require the class to get a license; we’re just trying to get you ready to pass the FCC test.

The classes are free but you need the ARRL Ham Radio License Manual, Third Edition, ISBN: 1-62595-013-0. The material was updated frequently so make sure you have the correct book. Be sure to use one that specifies it is for the July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2018 test pool. Some earlier versions are usable, just contact me first to confirm. This book comes with a CD. I’ve been told that it is available for $25 without the CD, but I’ve not found that yet. Just make sure the test pool dates are correct.
